LIBPCTX(3LIB) Interface Libraries LIBPCTX(3LIB)
libpctx - process context library
cc [ flag... ] file... -lpctx [ library... ]
Functions in this library provide a simple means to access the
underlying facilities of proc(5) to allow a controlling process to
manipulate the state of a controlled process.
This library is primarily for use in conjunction with the
libcpc(3LIB) library. Used together, these libraries allow
developers to construct tools that can manipulate CPU performance
counters in other processes. The cputrack(1) utility is an example of
such a tool.
The shared object libpctx.so.1 provides the public interfaces defined
below. See Intro(3) for additional information on shared object
interfaces.

DESCRIPTION
Functions in this library provide a simple means to access the
underlying facilities of proc(5) to allow a controlling process to
manipulate the state of a controlled process.
This library is primarily for use in conjunction with the
libcpc(3LIB) library. Used together, these libraries allow
developers to construct tools that can manipulate CPU performance
counters in other processes. The cputrack(1) utility is an example of
such a tool.
